Aaron Blakey Interview
Aaron is a good friend of mine and also a fantastic jazz pianist who has played in Japan and the US before settling here in Sydney. I asked him if I could do an interview for a competition I wanted to enter and he very kindly agreed! I wanted to capture Aarons great character and his passion for music. All footage was taken on a DSLR and edited by myself and includes Aaron's music in the background.
IMB Mobile Banking
IMB were launching their new mobile app and required a dynamic motion graphic the was easy to understand to highlighted the cool new features they'd included into the design. The app was still in the development stage during the build of the motion graphic, which meant limited resources to create the animations. My role was to assist in writing the script, storyboard the movements of the piece, and animate the phone and app realistically. The voice-over was done externally.
Justin came to me with a vision - to promote his jazz entertainment business through the use of online video. It was important to show what different bands his company offers and the difference between a three, four, and 5+ band makes. We set to work on organising the bands together and shot four videos with the different band variations as well as an intro video to put on the front of the site. The result is what you see here (link below) and special attention was given to the colour grading to match the style of the scene and of course the music.
The Lynas Way
Lynas required a new induction video for their employees. It needed to be something engaging, fun and incorporated the newly designed icons. All animation and graphics were designed by me and the voice over from the art director!
Martyn Ryan, head of Collective Affect, needed a promotional video to help explain what Collective Affect is all about. We decided on an interview style where key members explained in their own words what they thought about the company and what they hope to achieve. I shot, directed and edited this video. A huge part of shooting video includes preparing the 'actors' and making sure they are comfortable and spend time talking with them to become more natural on camera.
What is MLP?
A motion graphic piece for a presentation on MLP - Multi-Level Perspective for her masters degree. We worked together on a script and then produced a storyboard before recording and designing the graphics. It was a quick turnaround and we managed to complete the entire project in a weekend.
A personal project of mine - I wanted to show through time-lapse what it's like to ride a motorcycle and show the movement of the city in the time it took to get home from work. I spent several nights in and around Sydney for the different shots, and two nights on my motorcycle to produce this piece.
Harcourts BLC Launch
BLC stands for Business Leaders Conference and is held once a year for Harcourts Business Owners. I was given the project to storyboard, direct, and produce a launch video for the event and promote the various facets Harcourts has to make the owners daily tasks easier and more productive. The result is an example of a real estate agent going through a normal day with motion graphics around her highlighting the technology she is using - i.e. Mobile phone app, online systems etc.
