Avanti Mountain Bikes
During 2011 I worked for Sheppard Industries - A New Zealand based company that designs and builds road, mountain, BMX and kids bikes. My role at the company was to design the paint schemes and graphics for the upcoming 2012 mountain bike range. It was a fantastic experience learning how bikes are designed, made and how the paint and graphics are applied - It was very creative and also very technical at the same time because each graphic needed to fit across 3-5 different size variations.
During my time at Sheppard industries I was given the opportunity to design graphics for a few of the BMX bikes to be produced for the 2012 model year under the ABD brand.
Eraring Energy Sustainability Report 2012
A new year and a new goal to step it up a notch. After designing last years report the brief for this one was to include more imagery to the text heavy document and a more dynamic look using info-graphics.
With the new style designed we found the report was a whopping 12 pages shorter than the year before yet included a similar amount of copy and way more imagery. This is in part, from hours of refinement with the typography and utilising the pages space to their best without compromising a defined look.
This time, Eraring placed 2nd in the ESAA sustainability reporting awards, earning a 'highly commended'. A substantial improvement from the previous years' 7th place.
Eraring Energy Sustainability Report 2011
Eraring Energy needed a new look and feel for their annual sustainability report. With no previous reports to get feel for the content and brand guidelines that seemed out of date, I set to work on coming up with a new report that was fresh, clean and complemented the Eraring Energy brand.
The end result was a 72 page perfect-bound report in an easy to read magazine style. Sections in the report were colour coded for ease of use and info-graphics designed to complement the content. Eraring was placed 7th for this report, a substantial improvement from almost last the previous year.
Luxury Portfolio Magazine
Harcourts Real Estate launched a new luxury magazine promoting houses across the globe priced above US$1 million. My task was to design a magazine that not only looked sophisticated and modern, but also fitted into a dynamic online template management system - so real estate agents could go online, chose a template style, a colour scheme, and submit their information without the need of a designer.
Harcourts Listing Kit
Harcourts Real Estate agents needed a magazine that they could hand out to potential clients that told them about the Harcourts brand, what makes them unique, and what services they can offer to sell a property. Enter the listing kit. Two styles were designed to cater to clients with different tastes - Contemporary - Featuring modern furniture and clean san-serif typography; and Classic - A more traditional look for the older target audience. This example is the contemporary style.

Inside Harcourts Magazine
An in-house communications magazine for Harcourts International. This quarterly magazine featured news and events, new staff members and awards. Originally a tabloid-style newspaper, I updated the look to fit within the new glossy magazine format.
At Media Unlimited I designed two sport magazines - Endurancesport and Multisport. Endurancesport was a 114 page high-gloss sports magazine and featured a range of fitness sports including cycling, running and cross-country. Multisport was purely triathlon focussed and featured key competitors from around the world.
